Our Primary Program welcomes children from 2 to 6 years old, in two mixed-age Montessori classrooms where younger and older children learn together.
We are at 7212 Carroll Avenue, Takoma Park, MD 20912, in the heart of Takoma Park and close to Silver Spring and the Takoma neighborhood of Washington, DC.
We are open Monday through Friday, from 7:30am to 6:00pm, with minimal scheduled closures through the year.
We offer tours on weekdays at 10:30am. Visiting in person is the best way to understand Montessori, so book a tour online and we will walk you through a classroom and answer your questions.
For the 2026 to 2027 year, half day tuition is $11,500, school day is $20,500, and all day is $22,500. Twelve month plans are available. Full details are on our Tuition page.
Yes. Siblings and active duty military families receive 5% off. Ask us about the plan that best fits your family when you visit.
Yes. Care wraps the school day within our 7:30am to 6:00pm hours, so there is no patchwork of sitters and no midday shuffle for working parents.
Yes, we offer a summer camp. Ask us for the current dates, ages, and details, or mention it when you book a tour.
The Primary Program is our mixed-age Montessori classroom for children ages 2 to 6, where children carry a task from beginning to end and build independence, concentration, and a love of learning.
Learning is child-led and hands-on across practical life, sensorial, language, math, and culture and the arts, with daily outdoor or indoor gross motor play. Guides observe each child and offer the next lesson when the child is ready.
Our classes are intentionally small, so every child is known, valued, and nurtured, with the individual attention they deserve.
In a Montessori classroom, children choose purposeful work from a prepared environment and learn by doing at their own pace, rather than following one whole-group lesson. Mixed ages let younger children learn from older ones and older children build leadership.
Children can begin with us from age 2. Every child is different, so the best way to know if the time is right is to visit, see the classroom, and talk with our guides.

The 2026 to 2027 school year begins August 24. Seats are limited and tour times fill first, so early visits are encouraged.
